Scanner

Using the device's built-in camera as a scanner can help simplify the inventory management process by capturing barcodes and QR codes. This enables quick actions for efficient and accurate tracking and management of inventory. Additionally, an external Bluetooth scanner can also be used for performing the same quick actions as the built-in camera.

Scanner Modes

The scanner has five distinct modes to enhance user interaction and workflow efficiency. Each mode is designed to facilitate specific actions following a barcode recognition. Whether searching for products, adjusting stock, or managing inventory, the scanner offers versatile functionality to meet various operational requirements.

The scanner will look into the set of items and bring any item that matches the code recognized against UPC, SKU, serial number, and part number attributes. All five actions will bring the item to the main list and perform the given action as follows:

- Search: Enables users to quickly search for specific products or items by scanning their respective barcodes.

- Adjust: Facilitates real-time adjustments of stock levels related to scanned items.

- Open: Triggers the opening of item definition for the scanned barcode.

- Inbound: Streamlines inbound logistics processes by facilitating the receipt and verification of incoming goods or shipments by continuing item scanning.

- Outbound: Optimizes outbound logistics operations by enabling the picking, packing, and shipping of products or orders by continuing item scanning.

Camera Settings

The camera scanner is equipped with several features that enhance the scanning experience. Let's take a closer look at each of them:

- Image Analysis: The camera scanner uses artificial intelligence to analyze the scanned image. This feature automatically crops, detects edges, corrects perspectives, and enhances the scanned barcode for improved readability.

- Exposure Adjustment: In situations where lighting conditions are not ideal for scanning, users can manually adjust the exposure settings. This feature helps to tweak brightness and contrast, resulting in better quality scanned barcodes.

- Torch/Flashlight: The camera scanner comes with a built-in flashlight that can be useful when scanning barcodes in low-light environments. This feature provides additional illumination to improve the clarity of the scanned barcode.

- Sound Feedback: The camera scanner produces sounds to indicate when a barcode has been successfully captured or when adjustments are being made to the scanning settings.

Scanner Options

Auto-collapse: This feature automatically collapses the scanner section when you stop the scanner. It helps free up space and show more items on the list. You can also manually collapse the scanner section by tapping the collapse icon on the navigation bar.

Disable Sleep Mode: Disabling the sleep mode prevents your device from going into sleep or standby mode while using the scanner app. It ensures uninterrupted scanning sessions, especially when dealing with multiple items or lengthy scanning tasks.

Activate When Open: This feature automatically activates the scanner app when it is launched. It saves time and provides convenience by eliminating the need to manually start the app before scanning.

Navigation Bar Blink: You will receive positive feedback (green) on the navigation bar when the scanned item is found or negative feedback (red) when it is not found. This feature is more convenient when using external Bluetooth scanners.

UPC Lookup Service: This service facilitates adding new items that use a standard UPC/EAN by searching for this code in a global database and copying the data into yours.

Scanner Usage

The better the device, the faster the barcode recognition will be. Ensure that there is plenty of light. Low-light situations cause lots of noise to the camera image, making barcode detection impossible. The code is read when the camera focuses on the object, helping the camera get focus by moving out/moving in the object from the camera. QR codes are designed for cameras and barcodes with laser machines. It is recommended to use QR codes for SKU codes.
